April Events at Nomad & Adorned

Uncategorized

Nomad and Adorned will both be participating in Boulder Arts Week. Beading is an art form with an ancient history, and we are fortunate enough to be hosting some spectacular examples in the next few weeks.

Adorned will showcase the personal jewelry collection of Karyn Sawyer. A world traveler, Karyn has collected gold, pearls and diamonds even Elizabeth Taylor might have been envious of. Her collection, titled “Opulence”, will be available for viewing from March 30 through April 7. Karyn will be on hand to talk about her collection on Friday, March 30, from 4-6p.m. Libations will be served!

Nomad will be displaying Jake’s personal collection of historical beads and finished jewelry. We’ve titled his collection “Relics”. Mr. March will be displaying pieces dating back as far as 7000 years ago all the way up to the new world trade of the 1490’s and 1500’s. Jake will be on hand to talk about his collection on Friday, April 6, from 4-6p.m. More libations will be served!

On Saturday, April 7, we’ll be hosting 3 jewelry-making demonstrations at Adorned. Wan Norby will kick us off at 11:00, showing her technique for making a Tree of Life pendant, which is also a popular class at Nomad. Karen Dombrowski-Sobel will demonstrate a stone wrapping technique at 1:00. At 3:00, our newest artist, Gail Siegel (aka the Silver Fox) will show us some riveting. Come check out some new techniques!

If you love us and you feel like it, please stop by Boulder Weekly and vote for Nomad and/or Adorned in the Best of Boulder County through March 31. Nomad can be voted for under #115, best Arts and Crafts store. Adorned can be voted for under #143, for best jewelry store.
