Nomad Wellness Check, Late April Edition

Hello, everyone, Catherine here.

Last Monday, I went on a 2.5 mile walk out back with a friend. If you know me, you know this is an anomaly. In my view, it's abnormal to walk so much unless you're buying beadsBut, things change!
However, it was a beautiful day. If I didn't have allergies, I'd say it was magical. Alas, I do, and I wheezed a little at all the spring goodness out there. Sunday, I took a shorter walk with Margot (we've perfected social distancing and conversation while walking). We saw a very bold coyote checking out the prairie dog village while their sentinels issued clan warnings and all present scampered back to convenient entries.

Team Nomad is thinking that with the Governor issuing a guarded release on the stay at home program we might actually be able to open up on a very limited basis next week. We should have a better idea by the end of the week what that will look like and we'll let you know as soon as we do!

BTW, I've ordered face mask elastic which should be here this week, and we'll be selling that at close to cost because it's been almost impossible to get. We will only sell up to 2 yards to one person. If you need more, I can tell you where to order it online.

Again, a number of you have called in and bought gift certificates to use later or purchased items from the online store at nomadbeads.com. We appreciate each and every one of you who have done so. Every penny helps and we are grateful!!

Jake is at the store every weekday. He says it's too lonely to be there on weekends! Again, Jake has time right now to do your repairs!!! He asked that I let everyone know that now would be a great time to drop things off for him to do. Call him at the store (303-786-9746) and he'll get back to you and arrange to pick up and drop off your repair.
Additionally, we're offering a new option: custom malas made for you. We will charge $40 plus the cost of your supplies to knot your mala. Let us know if this is of interest to you and we will help design your mala and put it together. Some of our bead selection, though certainly not all of it, is up at the Nomad site. Margot has been doing personal shopping via smartphone photos for a number of folks and is happy to help out.
We've added rosary kits to our online repertoire, along with the assorted basic beading kits, mala kits and stretch bracelet kits! I'm looking for new ideas for colorways, especially on the basic kits. Margot says I need to do more pink, but I'm not really a pink kinda girl. Any suggestions?
I'm also starting to put together some more grown up kits with cool beads I'm finding (I know you're all surprised) in boxes all over my house.  Who knew that exploration of your space could be so useful??
I have completed my first instructional video on the knotted mala! Our production values still have a ways to go but we're really excited about having our own channel. Margot's first video on how to finish a stretch bracelet is already posted. If you've been through one of our classes before and just need a little memory nudge to pick up the skill again, this is the way to go.  To access our videos, go to YouTube and type in Nomad Beads.  Our videos are there.
There's one more date for Margot's online open table on Saturday morning, 5/2, at 11am. We may continue to do this depending on how the statewide and county stay-at-home orders shake out. Given that in-person classes may not be a thing for a while, we may be running this online class through the summer. We will see! This week she plans to review the basic wrapped wire loop and would be delighted to answer any other questions folks may have.

Attendees who are using their phones or tablets will need to download the Zoom app (you want the one with the blue camera icon, Zoom Cloud Meetings).  We will post the contact info in the blog section at www.nomadbeads.com and will try also to get it up on Facebook.
