Today is the spring equinox....even though it's snowing here in Boulder, Colorado! It marks a new beginning, and because it takes place on the same day as a full moon, it's an extra powerful time to start anew. Perhaps we could all use that energy right about now!
Seeing that many of us are housebound at the moment (social distancing or self quarantines) it's a perfect time for self reflection, spring cleaning and of course, beading!
Self Reflection
When I'm taking time to reflect, it's always good to look at patterns that no longer serve me. I like to break out my journal and do a mind cleanse. I write down anything that comes up for me and then take the time to go back and see what I've uncovered. Some refer to this as "free writing." I highly recommend it! A gemstone that is perfect to welcome the season is Green Aventurine. this beautiful gemstone is said to release old habits so new growth can take place. Try holding your Green Aventurine while you meditate on these thoughts. Right now is a time where acceptance is the key to all of our answers.
Spring Cleaning
If you've decided to tackle spring cleaning break out the sage first and smudge your home! We have a ton of sage bundles and palo santo in the shop which we can ship to you (hope to get them on the site soon). Not only is it a great time to clean out your closets but be sure to straighten out your bead stash. You never know what treasures you'll uncover. Make something new!
Begin A Project!
We'll use any excuse to start a beading project, but it's an especially poignant time to find things that soothe the soul. Knotting and beading can be quite meditative. This activity can quiet the thoughts and bring about a calm you didn't know was possible.
